Frontier Airlines and Bradley International Airport to Launch Only Non-Stop Service Between Hartford and Denver

Frontier to Bring Low Fares, Great Service and Easy Connections to Western Destinations and Mexico to New England's Rising Star City

DENVER, Nov. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ: FRNT) today announced it will launch daily non-stop service between its Denver International Airport (DEN) hub and Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Conn. beginning March 2, 2007. Passengers aboard the flight between Denver and Hartford, New England's Rising Star, will enjoy the comfort and convenience of Frontier's new Airbus A319 aircraft, with 33 inches of legroom as well as 24 channels of DIRECTV® service and a choice of three pay-per-view movies in every seatback.

The new service will provide passengers with the only non-stop flight between Denver and Hartford. From Denver, travelers can make convenient connections to Frontier cities throughout the western United States and to three of Frontier's eight Mexican destinations, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.

"Bradley Airport is soaring to new heights, and that's great news for our state's economy," said Governor M. Jodi Rell. "On behalf of the many Connecticut residents who have friends and family in the Denver area, I welcome Frontier to Connecticut."

"This daily service will give travelers flying out of Bradley low-cost access to world-class skiing, Mexican beaches, a thriving Denver business community and connections to all of Frontier's destination cities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. I'd like to welcome Frontier to Hartford for a long and mutually beneficial relationship," said Ralph J. Carpenter, Commissioner, Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Frontier's new daily service from Hartford will launch just in time for Spring Break skiing in March, when Colorado resorts typically are blanketed with their highest snowfall totals of the season. Passengers who fly between the March 2, 2007 launch and April 15, 2007, can exchange their Frontier boarding pass receipt at any lift ticket window at Winter Park/Mary Jane (http://www.skiwinterpark.com/) or Copper Mountain (http://www.coppercolorado.com/), two of Colorado's most popular ski resorts, and receive two lift tickets for the price of one.

Frontier's service launch in Hartford marks the airline's return to New England. Until now, Hartford was the second largest unserved market from Denver, and the largest market from Denver to not have service in the last two years. Frontier previously provided service between Denver and Boston until 2002.

"Frontier is proud to be the first carrier to fly non-stop between Hartford and Denver, and we're confident passengers who are unfamiliar with our airline will enjoy our new comfortable aircraft, superior service, consistent on-time departures and arrivals, and in-flight entertainment," said John Happ, senior vice president of marketing and planning for Frontier. "We get more requests from passengers to serve New England than any other area in the U.S., so we're looking forward to bringing the Frontier experience to Connecticut and southern New England travelers. Not to mention that with our early morning departure from Hartford, passengers can be in Denver and up to the mountains by noon to enjoy a half day of skiing, biking, hiking or any of the great activities the beautiful Rocky Mountains have to offer."

To celebrate the new Hartford service, Frontier will offer special introductory fares as low as US$99*. All fares are one-way with round-trip purchase required, and must be purchased by 10:00 p.m. MST, January 10, 2007. In addition, Frontier will offer double miles for travel between Denver and Hartford through April 15, 2007, for members of EarlyReturns, Frontier Airlines' frequent flyer program. Wow -- between this news and the new NW BDL-AMS n/s, that's great news for BDL.

Not surprised F9 couldn't make BWI go -- WN is so dug in there, and F9 doesn't have the frequencies or eastern-US route map.

Having Frontier land at BDL is welcome news... but setting up DEN-BDL as a red eye may make this a tough sell.

What happened F9 is no longer exist to BWI? I cannot believe it why FL has been very weak yields. Does F9 is continues to IAD or DCA?

Yeah between WN and their connecting traffic and UA's frequency, it just wasn't going to happen

I'm not surprised the BWI service is being cut. One flight a day (and a redeye in/early morning out, at that) just isn't enough frequency to make any difference at BWI in the face of two other carriers (WN and UA) offering multiple nonstops.

While the redeye may not be everyone's favorite time, the same frequency and similar times will honestly have a much greater impact at BDL, because it is a smaller airport, and, as the press release noted, there is no other BDL-DEN nonstop. Also, BDL doesn't have another option for F9 flyers anywhere nearby - the next closest airport served is LGA, a couple of hours away - whereas BWI has DCA only an hour away.

I do hope that the few BWI ground staff of F9 are allowed to relocate to DCA - in my experience, they were very competent.
