1. I'm no newcomer.
2. Don't tell me how to surf forums and/or websites; you aren't my parent.
3. I checked the Cathay website and didn't find anything which is why I came here to get a response from someone who may know more. I wasn't expecting rudeness.

As quoted from Cathay website:

Move in more comfort and style
From January 2007, Cathay Pacific will be phasing in luxurious new seat designs, fresh cabin interiors and enhanced inflight entertainment options that will revolutionise long-haul travel.

As quoted from another post in flyertalk Cathay forum:

First retrofitted aircraft in January 2007
The first aircraft to come into service in January 2007 is a B747-400 aircraft (B-HKT) and will feature the new interior for First and Business Class only (Economy Class will feature current seats). Succeeding aircraft will have the new products in all classes.

1. Nowhere in the quote from the CX website does it say what classes will be re-fitted. Nice try though.

2. I didn't search the forums, I posted.

Current rumours over at CathayTalk indicate that the first flight is most likely going to be FRA instead of LHR as the latter has 2 747 departing flights and well, there aren't enough aircraft to go around at the moment.

Well, it can't be the non-stop JFK b/c thats a 346 route.

I can already imagine what should happen if they start to introduce the new seats on just 1 flight to LHR! Everyone will just right onto 1 flight (251).

Just wondering how did they manage the introduction with the old NBC as LHR was one of the first routes to have it (along with SYD). Well back then there were only 2 flights to LHR.

1) The CX web-site clearly says that the new seats will be phased in from Jan 2007.

2) Your original question was whether the new C is on the JFK-HKG flights yet.

It should be possible to deduce the answer to 2 from 1.

Nice try though.

I flew HKG-LHR during the 1st week when they launched old NBC and they would only tell you which version of C you had when you checked-in at the aiport.

Herein lies the problem.

IIRC it was the A340 fleet that got NBC first, and the 747's a while after. I can remember flying LHR-HKG and return sometime in May 2002 and being told it would be 'a while' before the 747 got the seats installed en mass.

I am starting to feel old now, getting on to the third version of CX and BA's Business class.

Actually I recall the FIRST aircraft was the 333 and 1X744 that got the NBC

Actually I feel even older, this is the 5th generation of CX J seats.

1) MArco Polo Business Class
2) Old Business Class with WIngs and PTV
3) NBC
4) NRBC
5) NNBC

Four of which will still be in the fleet from January - vastly different products all being sold on some routes for the same price - I really don't like that at all.

(NRT, SIN, BKK, MNL, KIX, ICH, will see all of them "normally", and anywhere except the US and Europe will see them from time to time; US & Europe will only have two to choose from)

If I remember correctly, CX keeps the prices the same until it is generally guaranteed that the new product is available. Once a particular route is all on the new product, watch the prices jack up.
