Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - Longest/best AS runs out of SEA/LAX/SAN/Socal

My limited analysis of AS's MVP program suggests that qualifying via miles is probably the easiest play.
I'm wondering what might be the most lucrative/"best" routings out of SEA, LAX, LGB, SAN, or SNA. What runs do people commonly do?
I'm also wondering if the majority of you qualify AS-only (40k) or via a combo of partner and AS flights (50k).
Thanks,

I always qualify on all three, but generally reach segments first. If you fly much around OR and WA on Horizon, it's pretty easy. 15 PDX-SEA-GEG-SEA-PDX trips puts you at MVPG. :D

The best mileage run for my $$$. ONT-PDX-SEA-GEG-PDX-SEA-ONT. 10 trips = MVP Gold, that's 60 segments. Cost $99 each way(on sale). I've already scheduled my first one for Jan 13. Total cost with fees is $244. Has everybody received their MVP Gold cookies????? :D

seriously, you would do this for mvpgold. Do you need to go to geg? do you really enjoy those cookies?
Maybe I'm the freak here in my love of non stops and minimizing flying time.

Hmmmm, you definitely have me pointed in the right direction with the multi-city options, especially since I require regular transportation between SoCal and SEA. Thanks, thePineNuts.
Routing through SJC on the multi-city option yeilds some very interesting results. Very interesting. Anyone have experience for how low pricing might go on some of these multi city tix? Pricing on a most interesting, 5-seg one-way option is $295.
I'm also curious if AS allows any stopovers, or if there is a way to engineer a stopover. Paying a premium on a seg run would be more appealing if I could drop into a museum or two or overnight in SFO along the way home.

Seriously, yes. From the time I was a kid I wanted to work in the airline industry, however, life sometime takes us down a different path. I enjoy airports and flying (call me crazy). Now I do this as a hobby, bring a book, portable DVD player and enjoy. An added plus is the miles. I'm taking my wife for her 50th B-Day to Paris FC on British Airways. If I had to buy the two tickets it would have been $30,000. My out of pocket to earn the miles was closer to $8,000. As for the cookies, just found out when I opened the box yesterday.
Happy Thanksgiving

Okay, different strokes.
We earn about 120 to 200K each a year on AS. Usually don't even redeem for ourselves.
The cookies haven't shown up either.
Happy thanksgiving back.
