Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX Card linket to BAEC - can you earn miles on KA?
As KA's Elite programme is now defunked and members transferred to CX's Marco Polo Club - what happens to those of us with our MP Card linked to a BAEC account if we fly on KA? I can't find an answer to this in any of the info on the websites.

ACtually slightly OT, How does the BAEC link to the MPO work?
YOu earn Executive Club miles and the status retains to MPO?
What do you need to do to get this setup?

IŽd have a similar question on flying KA miles on JL or AY accounts?
Hi,
It's quite simple really... you will earn Club Miles on KA, but not any redemption miles since you credit to BAEC and it does not recognize KA.
If you want the miles for KA flights you would have to chance your redemption a/c to Asia Miles.
Re. Dave Marsh's question - Members have the option to credit redemption mileage to BAEC if they are UK residents. You have to indicate upon enrolment.
Thanks for the feedback. That's what I would have thought, that you can get sectors and club miles but not the BAEC points. But I tried that once before on an MU flight which they advertised as qualifying for MP miles. I realised I wouldn't get the BAEC points but did it anyway. When nothing was credited to either MP or BAEC accounts I queried it and they told me as MU isn't in One World then you can't get either MP or BAEC credits.
I hope you're right and KA situation isn't the same.
Thanks again.

You can only get Club Miles on OW and now Dragonair. This applies to all members, not just folks who credit to BAEC.
