Hertz - will monthly rate revert to weekly if returned early?

If I have a reservation for a month long rental and return the car a few days before my return date will the reservation revert back to the more expensive weekly rate? My actual rental requirement is for 26 days, Dec 27th - Jan 22nd. The price quoted for that is $1316 AUD which is based on a weekly rate. If I reserve a month long rental the price is $1087.38 AUD.

Also-

I have a #1 Club Gold. Everything that I have read on the Hertz site says that I can only accrue reward points for US, P.R. and Canada rentals.
Is this true?
Are there any benefits to being a #1 Club Gold member when renting in Australia?

Thanks!

Oh, yes, it will revert to weekly rate. At least that's been my experience and others have mentioned the same here on FT.

Call Hertz and ask for a prepaid rate. It may even save some cash. @:-) ;)

Hertz: "You must be a resident of U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, or St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. to participate in the Hertz #1 Awards program." While you may not participate in the Hertz #1 Awards program if you reside in Australia, you should still get frequent flyer and/or frequent hotel stay points for your rentals. Don't worry, by not being able to participate in the program you are not missing much. :D

Thanks. I remember viewing that page before but did not see the line you quoted. I checked again and that specific quote is nowhere to be found.

Thanks. I called the international reservations number and the person I spoke to at first did not know so she checked and a few minutes later came back on the phone and stated that in fact it would raise the price.
