This isn't particular to a single hotel chain, and definately relates to miles/points generated, at least I hope so. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I'll be travelling to Naples for between 30-45 days. I'd be interested in a couple of things.

1) Does anyone know of european "Business Suites" (Amerisuites, Candlewood, or Homestead) type hotels as are becoming more common in the States?

2) Of course, does anyone know of any in or relatively near to Naples?

3) Do these Suites generate miles the same way a regular hotel room does?

When being over for that long, you just get rather tired of being in a tiny hotel room. A suite offers a better balance plus the ability to store/cook some of your own food as opposed to eating out all the time.

Your thoughts?

Bouncer,

my advice to you is to call some of the full service hotels (Mariotts, Golden Tulips, Hilton's) and ask if they have any apartments. I did the same in Amsterdam, and while you do pay a premium for the flexibility, it is nice to have a kithchen and living area in addition to a bed.

I am staying at the Renaissance, and was able to negotiate a very nice rate with them earning full Marriott Points and status.
