I was checking into the Sheraton Baton Rouge today and noticed a sign above the line for SPG Gold/Platinum Members that mentioned SPG Platinum Plus members.

Is this another level to which I must aspire?

Welcome to FT.

SPG PLT+ is like super double-secret probation. It's so secret that we can't even write anything about it. In fact, everyone at SPG is required to deny its existence. Anyone who knows anything about it is sworn to secrecy.

Ssssshhhh. ;)

I noticed this thread and checked my starwood file. In 2004 I spent 104 nights over 61 stays in starwood properties. In 2005 I spent 112 nights over 58 stays, and thus far in 2006 I have spent 89 nights over 50 stays.

I cant begin to imagine what level of business one would have to conduct to get into this "next level".

I had 168 room nights last year (many of them in New Orleans post-Katrina), and never heard of Plat+. This year I'm back to 50-odd nights, so wouldn't expect to hear about it! At least I have Platinum for another year.

Guys, don't get too excited, the owner of the casino nearby (used to be Penn National, now Columbia Sussex Corp) owns the Sheraton Baton Rouge. Platinum Plus refers to casino guest VIP.

AFAIK is the VIP status, need to be a CEO or a Very Important Guy that manages to bring business to them. In some hotels at the check in desk there is a small summary of the different status and previleges. I remind of the Westin in Dublin and the Kamp at Helsinki you can find those
