Anybody know if I can force a NW-operated, DL-codeshare flight so I can remain eligible to get upgraded?

Now if they just swing that fare over to include AUSTIN and then CO matches :p

I have found that in the reverse situation (trying to book a NW ticket on a DL-operated plane) that calling the NW reservation agents produces a whole lot more variety than the website allows.
I am not sure if that would work in reverse considering that when you call DL you probably get the outsourced call center, but if you can't make the website work, or get Orbitz to do it, it's the only other thing I can think to suggest.
