hi,

never ever did i have any problems to get specific seats assigned for long haul economy class exit rows on LH.
now i have a ticket issued on austrian ticket stock (booked via the austrian airmanager)-
LX for NUE-ZRH, ZRH-JFK
LH for JFK-FRA, FRA-NUE

all attemts to get a confirmed exit row seat failed.

SEN-hotline could only make a note in my PNR that i would like to be seated on 30A. in the "view my bookings"-list on LH.com i see 30A as my seat, but checkmytrip, expertflyer and kvs show the seat as still available.
all seat requests for the LX longhaul (seats reserved for premium passengers) failed too ... (

then i and the lady at the LH callcenter thought that it might me a problem because the ticket was issued on austrian ticket stock.

so i called austrian and they told me that they cannot reserve exitrow seats - not even for SEN. assignment would only be possible during checkin at the airport. :-(

so, is this really a ticketing issue or did i just get the wrong agents (called three to five times and spoke to different agents) ???

OS SEN hotline is completely useless when it comes to this matter, but usually only when it is OS operated flights. never ever had a problem getting exit rows in advance on LH even when calling the OS SEN line. sometimes it requires speaking to a supervisor though, or a call to the german SEN line... i would try again... and again... and again...

As far as LH is concerned, you should ask OS to release your reservation over to LH. Then ask again at the SEN hotline for a seat assignment, they should be able to give it to you. Same logic should work with LX.

My experience was, that the LH Sales Department in Austria can reserve for SEN an exit row. There was no problem and I always got an exit row seat.

I offen use the LH Germany telephone check in, because they can you check in 24 hours before and then they can mostly give you an exit row seat, when you tell them that you are a SEN, because they donīt think and you will checked in on a seat, which the systems will give you.

unfortunaly there is not! and its not even "airport release" either, you can only get them at the gate! i had many less than 24hr, but overnight, layovers in vienna where i checked my luggage the day before and requested exit seats then but they could never do it... the best advise i can give you is to be at the airport early ask them in the lounge to tell you as soon as someone is at the gate and then head over there to get the seats, thats how i got mine every time. but you have to be early because they tend to give them away to just anybody who asks for them, status or not...

I have booked an long hole flight with OS in Economy and for me it was possible to reserve a seat in an exit-row. I called the M&M SEN Hotline in Vienna.

When they issued the ticket they reserved automatically a seat one row behind the exit-row. I changed this without any problems.

So I should be lucky .....

Me too, please :) I've got a flight coming up in two days. Is there any reason to keep the number secret, by the way? You simply won't be served when calling as a base-member.

Go to service center - contact at the left side near the button. This is the number for M&M Service Center.

For M&M SEN-Hotline you have to replace the last to numbers (11) to 22.

Ok, called the SEN hotline in VIE this morning and they were able to assign me an exit row seat without problems. The colleagues at the regular line kept saying it "wasn't possible"... :rolleyes:

Thanks -- I ended up being at the airport in STR the day before and checked in before the call center even opened. Instead of gate-release I got my exit seat right away, no questions asked. I was #77 to check in, 18 hours before departure...

I'll use the tel-number next time.
