InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - Write hotel reviews on PriorityClub website

Searched and did not find this mentioned yet:

When you review your account activity on the PC website, you can now click on a link to write a review of each individual hotel.

"We have partnered with IgoUgo™, the world's leading online travel community, to provide access to over 11,000 reviews of InterContinental Hotels Group brand hotels worldwide."

You can also indicate "favorite hotels" and "favorite cities" on your review profile.

Interesting.

Dangit! I swear I searched for "reviews," and that thread didn't show up!

Has anyone else seen this lately? I wrote a few reviews several weeks ago and checked back today to see if they met "editorial review." The link appears to be gone.

I noticed that the reviews, although using the travelocity format, identified the reviewer by status (business/leisure) as well as the PC Elite level.

Either a) this is a beta still in progress, or b) the reviews weren't doing IHG much good.

I'm not able to find the review links, either. Hmmph.

Funny, the "write a review" buttons for my recent stays in mid Nov on the account page have now disappeared completely...

unserious theory recommendation: "write a review" ist just open for positive comments up to 48 hours after posting a stay. :D

Ok, now the review links have returned to the PC website!

Oh wonder! Yes they have! But let's face it: they might vanish again exactly at midnight (when you miss to jump on Intercontinental's pumpkin coach ....) :D :p :D

My 2 reviews (1 ultra positive, 1 ultra negative) seemed to be to much for the system .... the review links have already disappeared again (system overflow?)!
Maybe the IgoUgo partnership allows just 2 reviews per day ... sorry guys! :p :D

Naughty you! So do we need a new theory then? What about
:D the sponsor involved pays for review links just 2,5 hours a day?

I just did that. I told them what I thought about the Grand Canyon Holiday INN.

I just looked for your review, Bonny (HIX Grand Canyon?)- but can't find it. Maybe they need not 2-3 days but 2-3 months to post it ....:td:

Ok, the review links have been missing from the PC website for weeks now. Officially dead, they appear to be.

Does anyone have knowledge of the demise of the review system? I'll bet they got way too many negative reviews.

WonderDude, this is one possibility, but I think also of another: that a lot of work is involved to check all reviews before publishing them. ;)

I think they were just testing it, that is why some people could find it others could not, they were targeting certain users or groups of people. Pretty common with web marketing. I think they found out the obvious, which is that people don't run to the site to write possitve reviews. They run to the site to complain. I have had a lot of good stays at IC properties but the stay that sticks out to me is the stay I had at the darn Candlewood Anaheim Resort, and I would have put a review on there. Not to be malicious but because it would of been nice had I had fair warning.

Whatever you want to make out of it, my dear Camino1! :D .... but it is standard procedure that the publishers reserve the right of editing, shortening or totally withdrawing any review without the authors consent.

I think the_commish3 explained it very well in his earlier smart post, it perfectly makes sense to me.

IMHO never trust "reviews" on hotels website. I don't see any reason for them to accept any reviews that would put the hotel in a negative view.

Last week, at the HI Express Chelsea in Manhattan, I got a note under my door along with my bill addressed to "Dear Priority Club Member". The 2nd paragraph says,

"In the next week, you may receive a survey .... [from Priorityclub]. As a promotion for the grand opening of our hotel, we will offer 1,000 bonus Priority Club points to anyone who gives our hotel a perfect score on their guest satisfaction survey."

So much for the validity of those "Excellent" ratings on the ICHG hotels website. I was blown away that a hotel would give essentially a 1,000 point bribe for a perfect review. I did write to the Assistant GM, who's name was at the bottom of the letter.

This indeed sounds very strange, but I would not go so far to generalize the whole matter. I was lucky that all of my own (genuine) positive reviews posted, before the review section was finally closed. :)

Hard to believe PC would allow that.

This makes no sense. How would the hotel know who filled out the survey, and how?

Certainly PC does not share this information, is a person's PC info even on the surveys? I thought they were annoymous.

I don't know how they'd know who I am to credit points, I haven't got the survey. But if I do get a survey and its anonymous, if I fill it out and send it back, I'll be sure to email the person who sent me the letter and ask for my 1,000 points! What can I say? I'm a points junkie.

So why not email 'em right now and say that you did the survey, gave 'em 5 stars across the board, and demand your 1k points? :)

Interesting indeed – I noticed it as well last night. It mysteriously appears then disappears, like the aurora borealis, or a coveted zoo animal…

Try clicking ‘My Account’, then look at past stays. ‘Should see it there.

Interestingly, for the moment, it’s (compiled reviews) not available for view in its normal placeholder under hotel details…

Works fine here for me. Besides "Write a review" links I have a new "Traveler Reviews" menu on the left.

Hi Fl350

Thx, I followed your advice, I do not have "My Account" I have "View Account" guess it's the same.

However, I clicked on my most recent stay, and there is nowhere within there to post a review.

Thx for the assistance tho

I was searching for a property in STL and the reviews showed up about a week ago. Searched a few days later for Omaha and they were gone once again. Seems to be an intermittent issue that continues.
