Pop a CD in to the slot drive, fire up itunes to import it and let it rip. The combination of superdrive and cooling fan sounds like engines and the AC on a flight.
Which one of your gadgets makes noises that reminds you of flying?

You might want to get your MBP checked. But my Seagate does sound pretty sweet and reminds me of flying (even though I'm stuck at home now). :(

Oh, it was serviced less than a week ago. new logic board (again), new superdrive, new power invertor for the screen.
At least the screen is silent but I don't think the fan has stopped running since I got it back.
Bliss! I can sit in my room and pretend I'm on a flight.

Call applecare and ask for a replacement as you have had 3 major repairs. If your lucky you might get a core 2 duo like I did to replace my powerbook.

It has to be sent in for three seperate repair sessions. mine has had two.
first one in July. Logic board and battery.
Second one last week. Logic board, power invertor, superdrive.
Never mind that out of a 50 stack spindel of DVD-R it spit 30 odd and burned 13. mounted and checked them but as soon as removed from drive and inserted back in again, it did not read.
I think this thing needs an exchange but sadly I have to go through another reapair and by the forth time I send it in it will be replaced.
But thanks anyway.
BTW - I never took out applecare on this. it's on it's normal warranty.
Cheers

After the major parts you have gotten replaced in a short time you are entitled to a replacement. I had a powerbook for almost a year and got the the new core 2 duo as a replacement. Applecare is the name of the warranty original or extended 3 year. Call them or go to any apple store and ask for a cru - customer replacent unit.
My feeling for the overpriced nature of apple is their proven customer service.

Getting one!
Went in to a PC World shop where I now live and explained the situation. The store manager asked me to get repair records from the service center and the receipt. I did that and provided the original box.
Now, as it so happens, not a single PC World shop in UK or Ireland has a MBP in stock. They've given me a MacBook as a loaner until they get one in.
Apple refused to replace it. They wanted it repaired again and at the fourth repaire they would have given me a new.
So - at least all's well that ends well.

Sort of a gadget.. Our other car has a supercharged engine and it's wine reminds me of taking off in an Airbus plane.
