We are planing our trip flying out of OAK to RIC. We would like to leave June 29th and come back July 8th. We have enough AMEX to convert into 2 free tickets. I have not transferred the points over yet because they have not opened up there schedule that far out yet. I called Jet Blue to ask them when they are going to open up their schedule and she said she did not know the date but that they typically do this on Mondays. I see some people really watch this kind of thing closely for a pattern. Is there a time when I should start to really watch for this? Do they do this at midnight? There are 5 of us flying so this would really help us out budget wise. Also, do they have laptop plugs?

Thank you in advance.
Theresa

No electrical outlets on their aircraft - sorry. Just bring a fully charged battery and you can also charge during your layover at JFK.

There has been a few threads about this. Honestly - no one has prior notice as to when jetBlue plans on extending its schedules. As history shows and my own experience, I would expect the summer schedules to open up by mid-January the latest...Maybe even in December! Just keep checking...as long as you transfer the points within the first week or so you will be fine since there are award seats available on all flights.

How long do AmEx MR to jetBlue TB normally take?

Schedules are normally opened 5-6 months in advance. I believe that we are currently selling tickets thru April 31.

They say something like up to 48 hours...but I've seen the points appear in my TrueBlue account literally 5-10 minutes after getting off the phone with them, so pretty much instantly.

Hey Thanks ^
Pretty much the same with transfers to Virgin Atlantic. Always takes about .172 seconds. Yes I time it!

You may also want to consider one of the OAK-IAD nonstops, depending on where you're going near RIC. I live about 20 miles south of Richmond and I still find it more convenient, and generally faster, to drive the 2 hours to IAD and board a nonstop to the west coast than to drive 25 minutes to RIC and deal with a connection.

RIC is a much smaller and easier airport to navigate than IAD, of course, but weather and other delays at JFK seem to be much worse than those at IAD, and layover times on some of the JetBlue connections are long. It's all a matter of personal preference.

We are going to Williamsburg. It looked like RIC was the only choice with Jet Blue.

For Williamsburg, definitely go with RIC...it's only a 40-45 minute drive when traffic is moving (though I-64 is very congested during the summer so this may take a little longer). Too far from IAD for a flight there to save you any time.

Jetblue usually doesn't book until 6months from date of departure. I would check back periodically starting in Dec, but most definitely by January 2007. You would probally have to fly from OAK to JFK then JFK to RIC as we don't fly nonstop from OAK to RIC. As far as your Laptop is concerned, we do not allow customer's to use plugs for safety reasons, as our own Flight Crew is NOT allowed to use them as well. The plug is there for Ground Ops to vacuum the floor. So you will need to either charge up your laptop beforehand and also bring an extra battery pak for longer usage. Hope this answer's your questions.
