Las Vegas - Commander's Palace and Restaurant.com coupons question

We're looking to have lunch at Commander's Palace during our trip. We'll probably do the $18.80 lunch special but some of us might not.

Wondering if anyone has had success using the $25 for $10 Restaurant.com dinner coupon for lunch after they introduced the $10 for $3 lunch coupon. I've read that the dinner coupon was successful in the past but was hoping to get a more recent confirmation. I'm more inclined to get the $10 for $3 coupon but they seem to sell out pretty early in the month.

Also, is there a limit to the number of coupons, you can use?

TIA.

Well, since no one else has responded, a couple of things Jay71.

Those Commander's Palace dinner certificates clearly say they're good only for dinner. So you're not going to get a guarantee from anyone here that the restaurant will ignore the restrictions for you, too. If you go that route, I think you should be fully prepared to get turned down. I've used these certificates for dinner there before and, frankly, I would feel uncomfortable putting my waiter in the position of trying to get management to override the rules that are clearly stated on the certificate.

Second, as far as I know, ALL Restaurant.com certificates clearly state that only one certificate can be used at a time. I don't know if you just haven't read this rule or if you are just looking for someone to tell you that they persuaded someone at the restaurant to ignore that restriction as well.

If you are determined to put your waiter on the spot, may I offer a suggestion: purchase both the $25 dinner certificate and the $10 lunch certificate. If the former is turned down at lunch, use the $10 one. The $25 dinner certifcate can be converted into a mega certificate that you can redeem for a restaurant certificate in the future.

Thanks for the reply, Sirecca. For some reason, I didn't catch it until now...

Definitely not looking for guarantees from anyone. I'm just looking for other people's recent experiences. Everyone should understand that their MMV. And yes, I would be perfectly fine if I did try to use a dinner certificate for lunch and it was rejected.

However, I would not feel uncomfortable asking my waiter if they would accept a dinner certificate at lunch because I don't feel it's putting them on the spot. All they have to do is say no or get management to say no and blame them ;) . If I start flipping out on them, then that would be putting them on the spot. :D

While ALL Restaurant.com certificates might clearly state that only one certificate can be used at one time, that doesn't help those like me who haven't purchased a certificate yet. I searched the Restaurant.com website but couldn't find any terms for usage, even after looking at the Customer Service, Help/FAQ, and Terms links at the bottom of their home page. But you can call me blind because I just went back to the Commander's Palace certificate page and now see the Dining Certificates tab (which IMO doesn't easily stand out as a tabbed page) that lists the Terms and Conditions for usage. Not very obvious if you ask me.

I'm not sure how often I'd be using Restaurant.com certificates so I'm not sure if this mega certificate would be suited for me but thanks for the suggestion.

For future reference, here (http://www.restaurant.com/pop-gen-terms.asp) are the standard terms & conditions for all certificates. (It's a link on their FAQ page.)
