Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - This frequent aircraft substitution is getting frustrating

I love CX and I know that CX frequently changes aircraft, but this is getting ridiculous. In the past few weeks, the aircraft on my HKG-LAX and HKG-TPE sectors have now been changed three times, and I've lost my good seat assignments. This after even after calling about once a week to try to remain up to the latest as to which aircraft will be flying the route.
Having lost 44C and then 54C, I'm now being squeezed into a middle seat. Don't mean to sound like a crybaby, but it's somewhat frustrating for this very vigilant traveler, who spends lots of time planning trips and seats.
I can only cross my fingers that the Op-Up gods will be looking down favorably on this soul.

Yes, I agree to what you feel also... Me too, spending some time to plan which aircraft and seat to get etc... But, lucky for me that CX did not change many of my trips.
Well, I guess there is nothing we can do... But it is not worst than some J pax that should have fly on New Long Haul Business, but downgraded to Regional Business due to aircraft change.
So, be postive...haha... :p :p

I'm rather confused by this - only two types of aircraft fly to LAX - 744 and 74J. 44C and 54C are the same seats on both so I can't see any reason why CX would change those seats even if they were moving from one configuration to the other. It's only people who had rows 30-35 on the 74J who would be moved if it changed to a 744.
I don't think seat allocation on a 90 minute flight to Taipei is a big deal frankly.

The HKG-LAX aircraft was changed back and forth and then back. For some reason, I lost the 44C in the first change and then row 55 (there's no 54 in the 74J on the ABC and HJK sides) in the second change. Perhaps I lost the seat to a Diamond (fair enough, if that was the situation). But what bummed me out was that in the last change, CX didn't even book me into any aisle seat. They simply didn't assign me a seat. So when I rang today to confirm for the nth time, I was told I didn't have any seat assignment and all that was left was a middle seat.
I'll agree that the seat assignment on the HKG-TPE sector is not a huge issue, but that segment comes after I'll already have been in transit for 30 hours. That aircraft was changed from a 744 to a 340 and now to a 777.

Ain't that the truth!
What is your fare class? Are you a OW elite? You may not have even been entitled to the seat reservation, which is why your seat was released twice.
On TPE since it is a regional route (and the second shortest in the entire system to boot!) there is no cause for complaint since on a regional route you should expect nothing more than the regional product and anything else is simply a bonus and the luck of the draw most of the time.
I would suggest you quit whining. And forget about that op-up. Ain't gonna happen.

Ah - so that seat change from 54K to 12A last week HKG-BNE was a wonderful dream and no more?
