Northwest WorldPerks (Discontinued Program) [closed to posting] - Re-confirmation?

Does reconfirming your itinerary on nwa.com reduce your chances of an EUA? For some unknown reason, I get the gut feeling that it's along the lines of OLCI where once you do it, you're left to BF upgrades. Anyone have any thoughts?
