A feisty flyer lands himself a first-class seat in court after physically attacking a flight attendant on a trip from Atlanta to Boston.
Kevin Brown assaulted Airtran employee Deborah Monroe, after she awoke him to ask that he please fasten his seatbelt for landing. Other flight attendants were able to pacify Brown, but not before he had punched Monroe several times.

Anyways, a guy who gets unruly should get thrown in jail. And any guy who hits (much less punch multiple times) a woman should be thrown away from society altogether. Simply unacceptable.

Some people when startled punch first. Their reaction is fight not flight.

There's a 3 second rule in the military that you are not responsible for the first three seconds you are awake. So if a DI shakes you and you wake up swinging, it's not assault because you're not really concious.

This sounds like that sort of thing. The guy wasn't drunk (apparently). It sounds very much like he was startled awake and lashed out blindly without concious thought two or three times. Could've been a male as easily as a female flight attendant.

My old roommate punched first if we startled him out of bed. It was totally reactive. He had NO control over it. We had fun with it. Threw a cup of water at him in dead sleep on the couch and he comes out swinging every time.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO acceptable excuse for punching a woman (or man) flight attendant! The guy is on parole. They should throw the key away!

I thought only my brother did this. He's a wake and puncher, too. How odd.

I highly doubt this guy got on a plane, fell asleep and thought "hey, I'm going to punch a FA if she tries to wake me up!" But, of course, I have a punching brother.

Then again, I wonder if Daniel Baldwin woke up and thought, "hey, I'm going to do serious drugs and steal a car!"

I'm just happy that someone else knows a wake and punch person.

Fair enough, but the normal reaction after you take that semi-conscious punch is to apologize profusely -- not to keep punching.

I think the new person to wake him should be Hairy Tom, his horny cellmate.

Too funny - reminds me of when we were kids there was a friend who used to punch when you tried to wake him up.

So we used to bait him so he'd bash his own head or balls.

Well, he wasn't on parole for singing too loudly in church. My guess is he'll be spending some quality time in the can.
