Help.

I just updated my company laptop to XP service pack 2 and ever since then I can't get MS Word to remain open for long. If I try to print a page the program crashes, using Word as my editor for Outlook causes Outlook to crash as well. Same thing for Acrobat 7.0, attempt to print, CRASH!!

I am not getting the computer to crash, just those three programs. I have run Norton, CWShredder.exe, Spybot, Ad-Aware both at normal boot and in Safe Mode. CWShredder found one thing but other than some misc. cookies there were no viruses.

I also went to Microsoft.com and downloaded all of the Office updates and installed them. The only thing I did not update was IE 7.0 becuase my company told us not to.

Any suggestions?

Same thing for Acrobat 7.0, attempt to print, CRASH!!...You need a new driver for your printer. SP2 fixed some security vulnerabilities and poorly written drivers were blown out of the water. All currently supported printers have drivers that are SP2 compatible. Check the manufacturer web site for an updated driver for your printer (or if that seems too difficult, you can buy a driver management product like Driver Mechanic, though there is no need to spend money on this).

Gosh it took you a while to update.

Uninstall the broken apps/drivers and reinstall.

Or if it is handy for you do a clean reinstall of the OS and everything else.
