hi all...

i just got the motorola krzr for verizon. i am completely new to any sort of mod or firmware hacking. verizon standardized their menus and disabled some functions.

1. how hard is it and where do i need to beging to learn about returning to original menu and functionality of the KRZR?

2. basically i just want to be able to load mp3's and use them for ringtones.

its been hard for me to find a straight answer. any help would be appreciated.

thanks!

Your best bet will be to head over to HoFo (Howard Forums).

HTTP://www.howardforums.com . Can't speak to the KRZR and what can be done with it, I haven't seen one yet. I know Moto has made some changes to the Razr that've rendered it much less friendly to modding.

Try wirelessadvisor.com, too. Friendly people. You will need to unblock some things that Verizon has disabled, obviously.

Here's a link to one of the threads about modifying Motorolas.

not sure about the cdma version, but can't you just load the mp3s onto a microsd and stick it into the krzr...

I like motomodders.net if you are into flexing and flashing.
