Has anybody ever gotten a ticket on Air NZ from the US to aus/NZ using mexicana points? In Business Class?

That's a difficult route to get a business award in using _any_ carrier's points - high demand from people willing to pay US$9k for the tickets.

I believe NZ is a partner with Mexicana's program. But agree - availability will be difficult on this route.

I stand corrected, hadn't realized there was a direct (i.e. non-alliance) link there. Fixed my original post.

Getting seats through Mexicana is VERY difficult since they can only book 10 months ahead.
Try Aeroplan, they can book Air new zealand's inventory 350 days ahead. More chances to be the first ones to grab those high demanded seats.
I just grabed a couple of seats for Oct 28 07, just need to decide if i want to go with the 777 or 747 business class. I have until tomorrow to decide before the res agent put my Aeroplan miles through.

How can I book With Aeroplan using Mexicana Points?

You can't, at least not without a massive loss of value. From Web Flyer's mileage converter tool (http://www.webflyer.com/programs/mileage_converter/index.php) you can transfer from MX Frecuenta to AC Aeroplan via Hilton HHonors at a net rate of 5:1 (ie 5 MX -> 1 AC).
