Mileage Run Deals - Just can't find NW MR out of SFO or FLL

I have been looking for nearly 2 months now for a "pure" mileage run out of any Bay Area airport or South Florida airport on NWA, but their fares seem to be ridiculously higher than AA or UA. It makes no sense to me.

My goal is to maintain at least some elite status for next year, so I am looking for 13,000 or 38,000 EQMs by December 31. I don't mind doing a cheap Europe run, but my preference is to do an immediate cross-country turnaround, or no more than one night's stay.

I know that there are probably some SkyTeam options out there, but every time I find what looks like a decent deal it turns out to have 0.5 EQMs on NWA. Also, as a NW Plat I would prefer to fly NW or CO to take advantage of the upgrades. And I'm not averse to spending miles to earn miles, such as for re-positioning to start a run or to upgrade an international itinerary.

I pride myself on usually being the one with creative ideas to help my friends with MRs, but I gotta admit that this year I am completely stumped. I had no problem reaching 120,000 EQM on AA this year, but NW has been like pulling teeth.

Thanks for any suggestions anyone might have!

Sometimes, you have to leave your home to go to a city in order to start a Mileage Run. SFO-LAS is cheap with the new Frontier flight or your can jump on the SFO-LAX fare war and do it ex LAX. Find a good fare somewhere - LAS-TPA comes to mind. Fly to LAS. Do the MR 1-3 times in sequence. Fly home with a ton of EQM :)

Im doing an NYC-SJC MR on NWA for 210 all in, Im assuming you could do an SJC-NYC in the same fashion.

I was looking for a MR from SEA and saw at least one combo that routed through SFO, so it should be possible. The itinerary that I saw was SEA -> SFO -> DTW -> FRA -> DTW -> SFO -> SEA for about $473.70. If this is within your budget, you might want to see if you can pull up something similar. It should net you about 12k EQM. If you can combine it with other routings, you could probably easily hit your goal.

Thank you all for the suggestions!

Looks like my dream pair of cities is now FareCompare's domestic MR champ for North America on NWA: SFO-FLL roundtrip for $157+. Just bought 2 of them! Sometimes when it rains, it pours!

You should look into if the reverse works too.
