Does anyone know where i can find an inverter that will work with empower? I have a long flight on a UA 747 with EMPOWER and want something cheap to keep my laptop running.
The best thing I've found so far is this:

I'm not sure if it works with empower though.

I just bought one of those. Haven't used it yet, but it certainly appears to be compatible with Empower sockets.
That should work but be aware that empower on UA is limited to 75 watts, many of the new large laptops require greater than 75 watts, so empower may not work. Look at your laptop specs to insure your power requirement is 75 watts or less.
Good luck on the long flight, I saw in the UA forum that you are in 1J, my favorite seat on the 744, good pick ^

Check the wattage - I have a Vector iMobile rated at 80W. I plugged it in on a 757 yesterday and the Empower light goes off. :( I'm looking for a replacement-what is the rating on yours?
From previous threads, if the adapter is under the 70/75W limit, but the computer is over, you may be able to charge your computer turned off, or use your computer if you take the batteries out (reducing the computers power consumption). I haven't tried this, but the consensus seemed positive....
