Travel Technology - Yahoo messenger video no sound?

I can't find this in the Yahoo Messenger help pages, but a web search seems to indicate that the video conferencing capability does not include audio.

I've tried this with a Logitech web cam, all the sound works fine with the various audio controls on the PC, but conferencing with others using Yahoo Messenger, no sound/audio gets sent.

Is this correct? Am I doing something wrong?

I've used Yahoo messenger to communicate with the grandkids - including sound. Sound was easier and more automatic than video.

I guess that you've verified that the microphone is working and trhat the mic input isn't muted.

Yup. Done all that.

Person on the other end has the same problem: video, no sound.

Might be that we both have the same camera, a Logitech?

Yahoo Messenger does include audio as long as your computer supports receiving it (microphone).

Are you using a desktop or laptop? By default I do not think most desktops have built in microphones. Many, but not all, laptops have microphones built in. My last 4 have had mics (2 IBMs, 2 Dells).

Have you gone through the Audio Setup Wizard for Yahoo Messenger? Did the little bar show up Green/Yellow/Red when you were doing your audio (you talking) test?
