Travel Technology - Verizon Secure DSL Wifi at home Problem

I installed Verizon DSL at home using a Westtell 327W modem/router. It took a bit to get it installed on PC but it works fine. I can access it on my old HP laptop with a netgear card so the wireless is working fine.

When we tried to access it with himselfs Averatec laptop that has built in wireless the trouble begins.

1. It connects with a strong signal and looks great on the icons.

2. When a webpage is open it loads so slow that eventually it times out. It is showing connect at 54mbs on the icons.

He can access other secure and unsecure signals with no problem. I can even run the secure signal through our Netgear router and he can access that unsecure signal. He even has a Verizon Aircard that works great. We uninstalled all the firewalls and even uninstaled the aircard trying to see if there was a conflict.

I have tried everything and spent 4 hours with Verizon "technical support". Still no joy.

Any ideas from the gurus here?
