American Express Membership Rewards - Air France Companion Ticket Question

Has anybody used either the 45K or 16K+$149 companion ticket on Air France?

Mrs Brewer has a hankering to visit Paris but wants a direct flight, so this seems like an option. My question is, does the paid flight earn SkyTeam miles? I called the rez number but the person there didn't seem know what I was talking about and I think said "no" to get rid of me (Funny, I get a lot of that :) )

Its the standard way to redeam MR with Air France (you don't xfer miles like to DL or CO)

Just call back and ask what fare class the paid ticket is in, and also the companion ticket. My guess is that the paid one is miles earning and the free one isn't.

Also remember the differences in mileage earning on different carriers based on the fare classes even on the paid ticket.
