Finally got around to reading through my Hilton My Way Account Summary e-mail statement and one little number got my attention and shock:

As of Oct 31, 2006:

Point Balance:
870,619 :)

I stayed in ONE HILTON this year and I'm a aluminum member!

hhonors.com has my correct balance.

But even if this error stuck I would not have the heart to go out and start booking award stays in New York, Paris, Hong Kong, etc. I probably would have told Hilton "Guys... please correct my account to my measley few thousand points.)

Honestly is the best policy and maybe the next time I stay in a Hilton I may even get an upgrade.

I'm actually meeting with the company that handles their database next week (they handle ours too), I may have to mention this to them, I always harass them over hilton mistakes, usually with something like

"Hey, you totally messed up my hilton statement, how can we as a not for profit insanly smaller then hilton expect better service?"

The first mistake I noticed was when they messed up and made me a diamond after a few stays.

Good that you're both honest and upfront. Meanwhile they also make mistakes in the other direction like. Some of us had to chase them up about requalifying despite seemingly meeting all the criteria requal didn't register.

What is aluminum? If you are making a joke then maybe I should consider begging the diamond desk for a fasttrack to the exaulted "Tinfoil" level?

A few years ago... Hilton did go in the opposite direction on my account. I qualified for Diamond but one day was reverted back to Blue (the lowest status.) They nicely fixed it right away.

I guess mistakes happen.

Sally... that's just my own joke about being a member of a frequent airline/hotel program with no status. I forgot the :)

If you'd like to move your business to a better provider, PM me. I may be able to help.

It's not my choice, if it was it may be different, not sure. The database will probably be with them for a while, it's a custom job, only a few years old, and nobody is looking to go through another conversion soon.

Well, nobody who matters.

You know you have spent too much time on FT and beeing an elite for way too long time to be reminded what Blue level is. Some of us have actually totally forgot everything about that level. :D Thanks for the reminder!!!
