I will be travelling SIN-HKG-LAX with both flights being operated by 747s. I have booked business class seats upstairs. In looking at seatguru, it indicates that the bins upstairs are small.

I will have a standard rollaboard plus a compter bag.

1. Does a standard rollaboard fit in the bins upstairs?
2. If not, should I just store them downstairs?

Sorry for the newbie questions - but I normally dont travel on 747s.

Thanks.

The rolliebag will fit in the storage above your seat, although it may have to go sideways, depending on the size. If you are seated on the window, they have a nice compartment along the side that fits most computer bags.

If for some reason you have to sit on the aisle, CX staff are usually very nice about storing the rollie in the closets near the stairs.

Good luck and happy trails!

Er, no - this changed well over a year ago (maybe even two). The space near the stairs is no longer available for storage of pax bags for safety reasons. If your bag doesn't fit upstairs then they will store it downstairs for you.

The upstairs bin takes my 20" Travelpro...but just barely. I would not that a 22" version.

Since I do have a 22" travelpro rollaboard, what would you suggest? Putting it in an overhead bin downstairs?

Thoughts are apprecaited.

Since it appears you don't need it in-flight you could always check it in...

The practice is to put it in the overhead bins in the last row of business downstairs. On the 74J, ones in the first row of the second cabin are also sometimes used,

Just tell the crew that you will put your bag in downstairs.

Just an update - 22" travelpro would not fit upstairs (the extra souviners from SIN did not help). On SIN-HKG, bag was stored in closet behind Business Class. HKG-LAX, staff took care of bag, not sure where stored.

Some notes - I felt bad for the staff - re-plugging in the headphones is a pain in the ***. Took them close to 5 minutes and three crew members to get plugged in. Hopefully, new seats are better.

Meals on both were good. Service great on both. SIN longue (First) for BA/QF better then CX. I know it is more of a hub for BA/QF - just a comparison.

Wing - great but not enough time. Pier - seemed a bit dark - again, not alot of time.

Secondary US check by hand - honestly a waste of time.
