Flying CX 521 to CX101?
First and Business
Any Suggestions which seats to get?
Does Cathay allow Lounge use and what to ask for?
Thanks

CX521 is served by a number of different aircraft (most of which don't have First) so you'd need to tell us the date or aircraft type for advice on that. If you're just connecting straight through to CX101 I would be on CX505 from Narita which is always a 747 with First and Long Haul-business (=AVOD). MCT at HKG for CX-CX is 45 mins so no problem there.

For CX101 you have a 3-class A330 (unless you get unlucky and they substitue a 2-class with non-AVOD, less legroom, regional business class). There's not much to chose between the business seats (2-2-2 layout) except: if you are travelling on your own and aren't fussed about views then you might prefer one of the middle seats since then no climbing over people to get out is necessary. But if you like the views then go for an A seat which gives you a good chance of having excellent views of Sydney on approach. (Also get one of the front 2 or 3 rows to avoid the wing.)

CX gives lounge access in accordance with your next departing flight so you'd get F access at NRT and J at HKG, although F at NRT means nothing - just a pathetically signed separate section of chairs. You might be able to talk your way into F access at HKG on the grounds of connecting from an F flight, which would definitely be worth it if you could (particularly if on 521 with a long transit), but it would be a favour, not guaranteed.

On a side note, which seat should I be on if I want night views of HK on CX100 SYD-HKG?

Currently flying on the 15th of NovemberSome confusion then because CX521 on that day is scheduled to be served by a two-class A340 and does not therefore have a First Class.

Are you flying on award?

Because if you take the earlier CX flight from NRT, on CX451, there is F class available, it arrives in HKG at 2145. Similarly, there is a CX505, departing NRT at 1830, arriving 1835 which also has F class. Both are on 747 aircrafts.

All of whom connect to CX101 which departs at 2355.

If you're travelling singular, then the individual seats are fine. If you're together and want to sit together then you'd need to sit where there are two seats together but it means middle of aircraft.

F lounge access for you if you're Exp PLAT.
