Holy smokes. I just got targeted for a survey on hotels that would give me $175 if I was able to fully complete it. I guess I answered the qualification questions wrong as I only got a weak $1 out of it. Best of luck to those that received it!

I recently was part of a targeted eRewards offer for participating in a home improvement bulletin board. Basically I had to look at and evaluate a website - answering a series of question and providing suggestions, twice a day, for four days. It probably took me 15 minutes avg / time * 2 times / day * 4 days.... so about 2 hours for $50 in credits.
I am not sure if that would be proportional to the $175 credit. If so, one might expect 6-8 hours of time.

I got a $200 survey about buying a new car a few weeks ago--targeted. I missed the email prompts for the 4th of 5 survey and only qualified for $60. A week later I got a check in the mail for $60 in real money--not erewards.
Each survey I took was identical to the last and only took about 10 minutes. Personally I did not see how those questions (or my answers) would have been valuable to anyone--they were very vague.

I just (in the last week) completed a survey about hrmmm, hah I can't remember now, but I got $35 out of it. It took about 40 minutes.
I was targetted for one a few months ago for $75 that would take 1.5 hours and if I completed that I would be asked to complete a phone interview that would last from 1-2 hours for an additional $150. Something happened when I clicked on the 1st link to the $75 survey and my browser closed. I tried accessing it again and it said I had already attempted it, so I didn't even get the $1 for the non-complete survey they had offerred. :( I never bothered to contact eRewards to see if I could try to complete it.
It does seem the last few surveys I have recv'd have been a bit higher paying then normal. Granted not like it was a year or so ago ($15 for 10 min) but better then $4 for 40 minutes.

A) Male
B) Female
Being my wife she chose B.
That was the end of the survey.

The dollar amount alone spoke volumes about the survey. You had to know that they were looking for luxury hotel patrons. So I donned my 5-star hotel persona and completed the survey. It really wasn't that long as I recall.

I got a hotel survey few days ago, but I did not recall it was worth $175?! Too bad I deleted any e-reward emails after finished with them.
It was asking about what hotels you would prefer to book for business trips - they did not like my answer of Park Hyatt.
It may not be the same survey because I did not remember Four Season was on the list - Park Hyatt was the "best" name on the list among Hilton, JW Marriott, Sheraton and something else.

I got past the gender point, and the frustration of having to accept 15+1 separate trips in last year, when the previous question had offered as max-option: 16 or more.
But when I admitted my nightly hotel spend averaged $100-$199, I was ejected.
Maybe they have a quota for each category each day.
So, like, if you're a low-spending mama who never travels, you need to get in there before dawn.
Good luck.

I think they are just looking for luxury travelers... $300 and up a night at the least, why not be sure though and agree that you pay $500 a night?
Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton (also works), type hotels are what they are interested in.
I did end up receiving this survey and received my $175 within about 2 minutes after completing the survey.
So after already doing the 1 allowed transaction for NW and having just completed a HH transaction, what else is there to do?
NW and HH are my preferred loyalty programs.

The point is, the list of "correct" responses posted is probably way too simplistic. The pattern is probably more complex, and/or contains some "random" elements.

Thanks. There is actually more to your travel profile. If you click on that erewards page, the settings also include:
How many nights in the past 12 months did you stay in a hotel?
In which hotel chain do you most frequently stay?
How many times in the past 12 months did you rent a car for:
Which car rental company do you use most often?

This shows how much you should trust what the "survey says." ;)e-rewards seems to keep track of this, sort of. If you check your account, they give extra rewards when you complete a survey that reinforces your profile. I assume that means they notice when you're survey answers are not consistent with your profile answers (household income, age, number of flights, profession, ...)

So... I wonder if they reached their male quota? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

That would surprise me. I have noticed that, in most cases, e-rewards seems to just be a front end for some other survey site. Each site has its own format. Unless they manuallu spot checked I don't see how they could automate correlation. I assume that the way it works is a client approached e-rewards (or vice-versa) and in setting up "the deal" the client specifies what demographic they want to survey. E-rewards then "randomly" selects X number of respondents that match the client's requested criteria, the e-rewards sends out the invitations--but a 1 for 1 correlation of survey results to profile questions would surprise me.
