I thought this was pretty ho hum, but I got this email today ...

I guess it's better than nothing, but I have several issues with this...

1. Again, another targeted offer. I'm a 9+ year Diamond and I rarely see these types of offers. I guess I need to drop to Silver or Gold before I make any HHonors "special offfer email lists."

2. 250 points is really nothing. They should have set the offer at 500 points at a minimum.

3. History tells us that we'll have to monitor our points balance to ensure we get the 250 points. I'm still fighting to get my 500 point AmEx Co-Branding bonus 50% of the time.

Other than that it's a WONDERFUL offer!

If you are staying Fri and Sat, can you combine this with the OAXM promo to get the $50 Amex giftcard and the 250 extra points?

I have a feeling that this one -- if it is, indeed, targeted -- will have a pretty wide target. This is especially likely given that I received this offer as well, and I've not been targeted for anything from HHonors in a few years.

I'm not going to object to receiving 250 points whenever I can get them.

This one isn't targeted, it's on the front page of the Hampton website. With that said it isn't a very exciting offer.

I don't think this was targeted, I've been at a Hampton for the past 5 weeks and I received it. I don't think I'm on their list of people they're trying to get to stay more often. :)

I thought you had to stay a saturday and SUNDAY night in order to get the OAXM promo gift card.

Sorry if this seems a bit dense, but is booking @ "hhonors.com" the same as @ "hampton.com"?

I received the email and have a pre-existing reservation during the qualifying period, but never go to the individual brands directly for booking.

This is the lamest promo since I won 3rd prize in 1992 in a fishbowl drawing at a Red Roof Inn in Michigan: $2 off my next stay at that Inn!

Hey, $2 was a lot of money back in 1992! ;)

Hamptons only give 100 AA miles compared to 500 AA miles for all other Hilton chain properties (Double Dip) and their Diamond VIP "extra" award (in lieu of upgrades, etc.) is less than the other Hilton properties. The 250 points seems in keeping with their lower level of benefits. I have never understood it since their prices are not that much less (and sometimes are more) than the other brands in Hilton.
