Hilton Details Construction Plans, Strong Q3 Performance
OCTOBER 31, 2006 -- Hilton Hotels Corp. today outlined a development pipeline that is adding more than 775 hotels and 110,000 rooms to the company's inventory. About 90 percent of those hotels will be built in the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America. Hilton expects international development will begin to be a bigger share of that growth within the next two years. The company said the growth is the biggest in the company's history and is the largest for any U.S.-based hotel company. In the third quarter of 2006 alone, Hilton added 60 properties and 8,070 rooms to its system.
