I'm confused as to why JetBlue doesn't consider MCO to be a "focus city." The airline has more non-stop destinations from MCO than it does from IAD or OAK, and they even have a huge ground operation at MCO (crew training, etc.)

Is there a reason for this distinction? My first guess is that it's largely an O/D market... but I cannot imagine FLL or BOS are huge connecting cities for B6!

BOS is definitely a connecting city for jetBlue - not to the extend as JFK of course.

I asked someone earlier this year is MCO was a "focus city" and they said expect it to be official by year's end. I think it definitely is one too - but they've been wanting to grow FLL. I would expect the dot on the route map to be highlighted within a few months.

I know there has been talk about JFK picking up some of the "saint" cities in the near future. Does MCO have any rumors going around as to whether or not they will pick up any new routes in '07? (i.e. IAD, AUS, RIC, CMH,...)

The main rumor I hear was MCO-AUS. I would expect MCO-IAD since it is typical of the current route map. Keep in mind, SWF-MCO is coming soon.

Someone a while back mentioned that MCO-SAN has very high daily traffic...yet no one serves the route nonstop! Although I was surprised by the numbers on that route, I think it would be a great market for jetBlue.

One other thing...someone once noticed that when you click on Denver on the route map and choose CONNECTIONG options....a light blue line is drawn betweenn BUF and MCO. Although it is likely an error, maybe it was supposed to be announced at one point and never happened????

On that topic, does anyone at jetBlue know how SYR-MCO is doing?

I feel badly for anyone connecting through BOS! Where could you possibly go that BOS is a convenient connection??

In a vaccum, sure... but there's already so much service between Washington and Orlando. With the recent introduction of Southwest's IAD-MCO route, on top of service by a host of other carriers, I'm not sure JetBlue stands to gain?

I'm suprised B6 didn't beat WN to the punch with IAD-MCO service. I was suprised when B6 let that go unchallenged. If B6 did go for that route, 2 or 3 E190 flights per day would do at the beginning. Then make changes from there.

Nah, but even then... they're competing against UA, FL and WN on that route... in addition to a tremendous amount of service from both DCA and BWI. It's a VERY packed route -- not to say B6 couldn't beat 'em all in the market, but since there are so many OTHER cool and UNIQUE opportunities for B6, I just don't see why they'd bother.

Actually, once, I was on an IAD-BOS flight and sat next to someone connecting through BOS to somewhere on the west coast. I forget where, but he had said, it was the only option available.

Most flying into and out of BOS is point-to-point, however we do have a fair amount of connecting traffic.
