<I just received this e-mail via ELAL FQTV Mail List.>
<<As spring is arriving, we want to make sure you are aware of some new service improvements that EL AL Israel Airlines will soon begin offering you, our most important and loyal customers.
The tragic events of September 11th, the situation in Israel, and the economic uncertainty have influenced the entire aviation industry. As a result, many of your needs and requirements have changed. Knowing all this and appreciating your support and confidence in our security, safety, on-time performance and quality of service, EL AL is introducing substantial improvements to our customers in the United States and Canada.
As of April 7th, 2002, we are introducing a new class of service worldwide--the EL AL PLATINUM--which replaces Business Class on all 747-400 and 777 aircraft. The new Platinum Class will offer you more personal service and a higher standard of comfort for the same price and number of frequent flyer points. And, remember that EL AL continues to be the only airline flying nonstop to Israel from North America with three classes of service, including First Class.
In conjunction with the new EL AL PLATINUM, we are offering a $250 roundtrip Platinum ticket to Israel to anyone traveling with a full-fare Platinum passenger. (See enclosed information).
Another service improvement is the code-share partnership with Delta airlines. As of April 14th, EL AL is adjusting its schedule to ensure smoother connections between the EL AL nonstop flights to Israel and Delta domestic flights from Atlanta, Cincinnati, Dallas/Ft Worth, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, DC. In addition, EL AL frequent flyers can earn points while traveling on these codesharing flights.
EL AL is pleased to offer Los Angeles area passengers the only direct flights to Israel, with no change of planes. The routing is Los Angeles-Toronto -Tel Aviv. This upgrade in service offers a minimal ground time in Toronto. To save even more time on the return, passengers go through customs and immigration in Los Angeles. These flights depart three times every week and utilize the new EL AL Boeing 777 aircraft. By the way, all EL AL aircraft departing the USA have personal TVs at every seat with a variety of in-flight entertainment.
You should also know that EL AL's investment in service and comfort continues as we are adding yet another new state-of-the-art Boeing 777 to our fleet this June. And finally, we hope that JFK passengers are enjoying the more efficient, vastly enlarged and more modern EL AL check-in facilities and lounges.
As you can see, EL AL is making every effort to serve you in the best possible way. We thank you for your support, as it is important and always appreciated. EL AL wishes you happy holidays and Hag Sameach.
Sincerely yours,
Michael Mayer
