I hear that legroom in coach is very small, as my dad's secretary flew it and then upgraded to Business coming back from Israel as she said the legroom was the worst she has ever experienced. It was worth it to her to spend the money.

I have seen their seat pitch for Business and First, and they are way below the industry average. However, I undersand that ELAL is combining their Bus and First cabins, smart move, as First class isn't flown like it used to be, with a 55 inch seat pitch. Can anyone elaborate please?
Shalom.

I have to agree that the legroom in economy on their 737 & 757 is quite rediculous. But if your flying Trans-Atlantic thrn you don't really have anything to worry about.

Simply, EL AL only fly 747-400 & 777-200ER on these routes and the economy is average, but i suggest paying that little extra to fly business.

Since removing the first class there has been a huge improvement. Theres almost 70" pitch on the 777 and about 65-70" on 747 all with upgraded entertainment (if Used.

Last but not least, in this climate at least you can relax over the journey with your security taken care of!!

Enjoy

Thanks and toda Jonnye. Appreciated.

Have you flown them out of LHR? what is the security check like there? They used to have a separate check-in at the gate, but it looks like they now use those big X-ray machines at the front check-in in the public area. If you can elaborate, would be
great! Also, how long does it usually take to clear security at TLV and LHR?

Take care.

Mmmmmmm paying that "little extra" to fly Business class? Are you kidding????? 750 francs vs. 2,000 in Business GVA/ZHR-TLV??? Anyway I am very happy in El Al economy. It's the best economy of any airline.I am a loyal LY customer since my first transatlantic flight on a Boeing 720B in 1962 as a kid.

It takes me about 1 hour to go through all security in. Lots of questions and searches.
