American express has an award where i pay $450+20k miles and fly cathay pacific. i would like to know if i get mileage on this and what the fare class is. thanks

$450 + 20,000 miles or 20,000 AMEX points?
I used a similar cert two years ago. It cost me 28,000 AMEX points and $300. I can't answer the fare class question, but when I used it, the rules on the certificate stated that it was not eligible for earning miles. The fare was also non-upgradable.
With the one I used, you could add a side trip from HKG for $150 plus taxes. It's not a bad deal, even without earning miles.
