I am relatively new to HHonors but have reached gold in 3 months due to a high amount of traveling this year. I have two questions:
1) I recently booked and stayed on rates purchased and prepaid at Hilton site and the only thing that posted for points were our room service charges. I did not get any credit for the prepaid rooms. Is this correct?
2) Does customer service ever respond to inquires via email or do they just blow you off? I have sent 3 emails over a two week period requesting an explanation why I received no points and all I get back are the canned we will get back to you withing x number of days and still nothing. Is this the type of customer service I should expect from Hilton?

Prepaid from where?? the Hilton website? If the answer is, "yes" I would send an email to gold@hilton.com & flyertalk@hilton.com and you should receive an answer.
You should receive points like a regularly booked reservation.
Also, being new to Hilton, I suggest you read the FAQ Sticky in this thread.

Yes -- HHonors "NetDirect" prepaid rates are fully eligible. Five days after checkout, you can use the online Missing Stay request form. Fill out the information completely giving total charges paid. In the comments field at the end, I'd break it down into the correctly posted incidentals and the missing NetDirect points. They really are looking into it for you, and aren't blowing you off.

You need to use their missing stay credit request form....if you just emailed them and didn't use their form (and provide the information required) that might explain the lack of response.
I tend to always get a fast response or no response when emailing....I always get the confirmation email you mentioned as well.

Thanks for all the posts. I will try the missing stay credit form. So far I have been very pleased with Hilton.
The FAQ section is wonderful. I wish all the boards on flyertalk would use it. Great work.

I've gotten credit for my Pre-paid stays (aka NetDirect) but they often take a while to post.
Does one also get DoubleDip points for prepaid Hilton.com reservations?
Are all hilton.com reservations always eligible rates for purposes of the HHonors program?

yes, you will get double dip and everything else whenever you book @ hilton.com.
In my experience gold@hilton.com can be slow, but they will eventually get back to the issue and resolve it. I always got my points :)
