Signed up on the Hilton.com website for the "Romance Package" at the Hilton Inn in Southfield, MI. It stated,
"ROMANCE PACKAGE SPARKLING WINE IN ROOM/FULL AMERICAN BREAKFAST.
Went to the room and there was no sparkling wine, headed back down to the front desk, the clerk said it was not noted on the reservation in the computer, luckily, I had a copy of the reservation confirmation. He called the kitchen and stated that there was a guy at the front desk that was "mad as h*ll and wanted his champagne." I said to him, I'm not mad at all, just looking for the wine. He replied, "I know, but I needed to get their bu*ts in gear."
The restaurant associate delivered a bottle of LeDomaine CA Champagne to me while at the front desk. I advised her I was not mad and appreciated her bringing the wine to the desk.
Another observation, inside my key booklet was a cert for a "Continental Breakfast" is that the same as a full breakfast? NOT ACCORDING TO THE FINE PRINT on the cert, apparently I can "apply this certificate towards the purchase of a full breakfast." Seems that I will need to talk with the front desk again in the morning...
This hotel is under large scale remodeling-it needs it...interior is a bit outdated and dingy..maybe they need new customer service training as well?
