Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Where can I book DXB-Bah?

I have been looking at connections between dxb and bah and from time to time I come across a flight from CX between those cities - though I am never able to book it somewhere straight.
Does someone know the secret around this flight? My guess would be it is one you can only book in combination with other flights under special circumstances - which I would like to get to know, because flights to dxb are much cheaper fo rme than flights to bah - and I would like to book this flight in order to get to bah on oneworld and earn my ba tierpoints.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
(search for bah / bahrein / dubai / dxb did not result in sufficient answers)

CX only flies Mon, Thurs & Sat b/w dbx-bah
You can book fights on expedia.co.uk
Are they not bookable on CX.com?

Not on my tries - and the one thing I had not taken into account is that they might only fly on special days - AND did rely too much on how the system works automatically.
If looking for the flights, systems like ita do not know those 'fuzzy' things like "does only fly on this occassions" ;o)
still, picking the flights for dec 4+9 does not work on aa.com while it does spit out something in expedia. strange but true. :)
Seems to work for me

DXB-BAH-DXB can be booked on Cathay's website.
I did a little research using Cathay, Emirates and Gulfair's websites and found CX to be the cheapest of the three on this route by far (all 3 prices were quoted for the same day 20NOV06 DXB-BAH and 27NOV06 BAH-DXB).
CX charges:
Fare - AED550
Taxes - AED60
Fuel Surcharge - AED120
Total - AED730
EK charges:
Fare - AED1,350
Taxes - AED60
Total - AED1,410
GF charges (very strange booking engine as they display fare in AED then add taxes in US$ and display the final amount in US$):
Fare - AED770
Taxes - US$141.40
Total - US$351.40 (AED1,290.69 using XE.com)
CY charges (They only have a weekly flight so the dates were modified as 19NOV outbound and 23NOV inbound):
Fare - CYP270 (AED2,178.63 using XE.com)
Taxes - CYP26 (AED209.79 using XE.com)
Service Fee - CYP10 (AED80.68 using XE.com)
Total - CYP306 (AED2,469.11 using XE.com)
Cathay is the cheapest of the 4 carriers on the route, but the downside is that Cathay's service is only 3xWeekly and their DXB-BAH flight is at 6am.

I have always loved that CX has traffic rights on DXB-BAH ^ Their fares do seem to be much cheaper than EK/GF etc primarily because the pax on this route seem to demand high service and are willing to pay a high price.
I remember that CX's schedule isn't that convienient compared to EK/GF but I assume the seating / service would be comparable (or maybe even better :) )

thx. I find the times in general for a lot of flights in bah/doh/dxb to be rather strange and the information in this thread will hopefully also help out other people wanting to try those bookings.
I am mostly surprised that aa.com will spit out one of the flights in one of the itineraries for another selection but if you give exactly the dates it presented you before with will say 'no flights available'.
Your comparison with the other airlines helps me out deciding not to look out for other options but be somehow sure that cathay is one of the cheapest options. ;) and with booking in H it should earn tp on ba as well. :D

it is a short flight, so seating should not be that much of an option, right? ;)

I booked two one way ticket from BAH to DXB on 30 Dec via Expedia. For some reason, Expedia issued paper tickets for this flight (web booking indicating that e-tickets were not available). There is only J and F on this flight.
BAH to DXB is at a reasonable time. DXB to BAH is too early for me (flight around 6am which would mean check-in around 4am ??) so I chose EK F instead (only about £40/US$70 more one-way) more and you get to use the EK F lounge in DXB in the afternoon.
Also the BAH-DXB flight starts off in BAH which means the plane should have had a decent clean and there is a much longer turn-around time in BAH (about 9 hours) to accomodate any flight delays. [i] I am surprised by this as the flight gets into HKG at 1:15am. Surely a shorter turnaround time in BAH (say even 5 hours) is more would get the flight back to HKG at a more convenient time like 9:15pm.

An earlier departure would have it land in the middle of the night in HKG

Oops - sorry. Mis-read the timetable. 1:15 was the travel time between BAH and DXB <very red face>, not the arrival time in HKG.
