Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - USB Connector on Biz Class Seats?

I normally fly NW but was just on CX 421 from ICN-TPE as NW does not fly that route. The equipment was an A330 and I was in Biz Class. The seats had the standard airline power connector but also seemed to have a USB type "B" connector on the seat! Does anyone know what that connector is for? Or was I confused and it is a completely different connector?

That USB connector was used for on-board internet access.
However, this service discontinued.
So, that connector is useless.

Actually it was not even Internet, but delayed email service from Tenzig (later replaced by Navigator).


But now the whole thing has been disabled.
