Is it possible to use the checkmytrip.com website on award CX flights? How can I extract the right booking reference to do it?

Do CX not provide the standard 6 figure PNR then? I've had no problem using checkmytrip with other airlines (both revenue and award).

How does it work for codeshares etc with CX if their booking system is completely different?

No they don't - CX PNRs are 5 character. If all or part of your booking is on another airline then they can provide the other airline's associated PNR which you can then lookup on their website.

OK thanks - flying with them early next year with some BA legs, so will look into getting the associated PNR.

If you buy the ticket from travel agent, they can supply you 2 record locators.
1) The PNR that you can check on the website. Like checkmytrip.com etc...
2) The CX PNR, which is the one that some of you said before, the 5 digit PNR.

But, these 2 record locators are linked together. The 6 digit PNR is the real PNR. The CX one act as the reference number for CX only.

If you ask your travel agent, they CAN give you BOTH. So, even for CX flights, you CAN check on net!!!

But not if you book with CX.

Exactly. CX only gives you the 5 digit one. Where agent can give you both.

CX uses their own CRS called CUPID.

But not if you book with CX.I make nearly all my OW bookings through CX, and I have never had a problem getting the underlying BA/AA/whatever PNR from them.
