Hi everyone. I'm new to the board so I thought I would introduce myself. I've been looking for a place like this and stumbled across FlyerTalk only 2 days ago. I've been kinda lurking around but have learned so much already.

Side question... what is a 3/5/7? 5/10/15? I keep on seeing that sequence pop up again and again. Sorry for asking, I know most you already know this stuff but I'm new. Thanks!

Welcome to FT, Wanni. 3/5/7 means earn one free night after the 3rd, 5th, & 7th stays during the promo period; 5/10/15 means earn one free night after the 5th/10th/15th nights during the promo period.

Those are promtions that HH had/has for selected people. Read through the many threads here. If you are a frequent traveller, you'll find that FT will increase your point/miles count and help you maximize your travelling experience.

Two of the first things you should do on FT is to check out the Glossary (http://www.flyertalk.com/glossary/) and start learning or experimenting with the Search function.

Even after all these years, I still find Search a bit frustrating (the first time I look for something, I rarely seem to be bright enough to come up with the right word or words to zero in on it). And more often than not, SEARCH ends up giving me answers to question that I did not even realize that I wanted to ask! :)

But check 'em out.

Welcome. May you learn as much as I have since I found FlyerTalk earlier this year. I was a lowly HH Silver then, but since, I have "grown up" to be a Diamond and it has paid off in a big way! The people on the board are a wealth of information and some are quite funny. Happy reading!

Whoa cool. I'm a Gold right now but want to upgrade to Diamond as soon as possible. According to the Hilton website it's going to take 13 more stays this month for that to happen. Hmmm... considering that there are only 3 more days until November, I don't know how I'll do it.
