If I can get off from work (and that's a huge maybe- it's always hard for me getting off around holidays being the low man on the ladder), I'll be on the 7AM out of JFK.

At these prices, I might have to try JetBlue.

On the 4th, the 6am flight appears to be sold out. The next 2 flights are up to $89 fares and the last 2 are still at the $36 fares

This is just the beginning of what will be a very successful city for jetBlue!!

I guess AA and UA will react sooner or later...it's just too bad their service and product won't compare to that of big Blue!

Yes, but what JetBlueFA means is many of those $36 fares have sold out already. For example, not all 156 seats (A320) or all 100 seats (E190) will be sold at the intro fare. They are limited, as with all sale fares on all airlines. Definitely a good sign that these flights are off to a decent start.

I am looking forward to flying Jet Blue apon occasion, but will have to wait for another sale.

If JetBlue makes some profit, just buy a couple 787s then you are on the way to CHINA. ;)

As I understood it, B6 received 4 arrival authorizations from the FAA (0830, 1100, 1100, and 1600). However, in looking at their new schedule they seem to have 5 arrivals during the restricted times (0700-2100). These times are 0840, 1135, 1455, and 1800 from JFK, and 1620 from LGB (as well as a 2140 and 2240 from JFK and LGB, respectively, but those don't fall in the restricted times).

How is this possible? Only 3 of the 5 scheduled arrivals sort of match up with the granted authorizations. Was there a deal with another airline trading/selling arrival authorizations?

Jetblue spokeswomen Jenny Dervin is quoted in a Reuters (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061026/us_nm/airlines_jetblue_ohare_dc_2) article as saying "JetBlue got seven slots at the congested O'Hare airport, receiving four from the Federal Aviation Administration and three from other airlines"

Maybe Jetblue has a few surprises up its sleeves?? Since they have 2 slots left more JFK-ORD if AA/UA increase service or maybe another city.

Nope only 5

1. 840a arrival from JFK
2.1135a arrival from JFK
3 255p arrival from JFK
4 420p arrival from LGB
5 600p arrival from JFK

The 940p arrival from JFK and the 1040pm arrival from LGB don't count since slots are only needed for arrivals between 7am and 9pm.

Their Service and product? Last time I checked, jetbluenyfl, United and American operated world-class international hubs at Chicago O'Hare, both offering 3-Class cabins with F/C/Y, some of the best FF programs out there, as well as membership in the world's second and first largest international alliances.

Sorry, but if anybody is not going to compete for "service and product" it is going to be Jet Blue. It's great that they are offering basement prices, but let's not get overzealous and start overlooking the huge hubs both AA and UA run at O'Hare. Jet Blue will never compete with the world's First and Second largest carriers at ORD, not for the sheer amount of flight operations they have there.

JetBlue already has competed with AA, UA and others in numerous market. Dare I mention SFO vs. OAK-JFK/IAD/BOS. What about LGB/BUR/ONT vs. LAX to JFK-IAD/BOS????? Howo about NYC-Florida against Delta and US Airways??? These are just a few examples of many.

I've said it before, and I will say it again. jetBlue is not for everyone. But they are great at what they do and their customers appreciate that. Oobviously the guy who has 10 million miles on AA or UA won't leave them to fly jetBlue. But some smaller Average Joe's will. The leisure market will. jetBlue is a growing airline and they will do just fine at ORD.

jetBlue doesn't need first class...that's what makes them difference. They are a primarily domestic airline and as far as overseas, an international code share will be announced within months.

Nice mix of aircraft. I'm willing to bet that within 6-12 months after the launch of ORD, all weekday flights will go to A320 to meet demand and weekend flights will be E190. Wouldn't that make sense?

Yes, the PR said A320 for ORD-LGB. Guess the west coast will still have to wait for the E190's to get out there.

I wonder why they don't put 2 or 3 out there for now, and start LGB/BUR-DEN, LGB/BUR-SEA, OAK-SLC, etc.

Also, LGB and OAK are big cities requiring bigger aircraft to accommodate more pax. Even the LGB-OAK (1 hour flight) flights are on A320

I said it is because of demand. LGB-ORD is 2x daily, not 1x. On weekends it is 1x daily.

I've alwyas wondered that myself. I've also wonder why they didn't the the BUR/LAS service downgrade to the E190 instead of out right cancelling it. I know WN is already on that route providing competition. Does any one know the loadfactor on that route? (If the # of pax is between 75 and 100 average per flight, the E190 would work great there.)

True, but I think the main reason BUR-LAS is being dropped is because BUR-MCO is leaving as well. The same A320 did the BUR-LAS-BUR run before doing the transcon out to MCO.

I know B6 has been keeping the E190's in the East (primarily for routes that O&D at JFK and/or BOS). Has there been any word or rumors on when the E190 will go west? I could see the E190's connecting a lot of the dots out there.

As everyone on the forums know, the big rumor for some time is STL. David said in the conf. call the other day that they would like to create a midwest focus city to connect the E190's out to the west. I think STL will come - who knows when though!
