hi all,
just a quick question. i recently qualified for hilton diamond status as of 13 oct 2006. to the best of my knowledge, membership cards usually are issued with a 2 year validity taking into consideration the rolling tier system.
i was sent a card with an expiry of 04/2008 :( :( :( .... i was expecting 10/2006....
can i hear experiences of fellow diamond members when they renew their membership.

Per HH T&Cs,
Once a member attains a tier level (in your case 10/2006), it will remain in effect through April of the second calendar year following the period in which the member qualified (in your case 04/2008).

You qualify for the next calendar year (2007) through the following April (2008), but are given the status immediately (10/2006). So, depending when you qualify you'll get anywhere from 28 months (if you qualify in January of a year) to 17 months (qualifying in December of a year).

You just consider yourself lucky that you got the card so fast, I qualified for diamond around 3 months ago and have yet to see a new card. Not a big deal as I never have to show the card anyway, but still annoying.

yes it should be 10/2008 and its a typo and i apologise...
i guess its a lesson learnt that careful reading of the t & c is required. btw does anyone know if award stays still count towards elite qualification?

yes...and I think if you did a search on this forum you'd find numerous discussions on the topic.
BTW, my card has an expiration date of 04/2007, but then I was fast track and glad to get it. (Yea!)
I got my fast track Diamond extended 1 year by arguing that the T&C do not contain any exceptions regarding Fast Track or other offers regarding the validity rule. Next time I'll qualify the standard way, so don't know if that still works.

How did you get your fast track to Diamond extended 1 year by arguing T&C. What part of the T&C did you argue to get them to extend. I'm am qualifing the normal way, BUT I to was fast tracked to Diamond and I'm just wondering what T&C you argued. May help in the future.
THANKS

Or read HHonors T&Cs, where the answer to that question is distinctly noted.

A recommendation: Anytime you detect a typo in one of your posting, go back and edit the posting to correct the typo. (And, if appropriate, add a brief note saying you corrected it in response to [userid]'s comment in Post # [wherever the number was].
