Hilton HHonors - What is 'Amex Co Brand Online Booking Bonus'

Only got my Hilton Amex at the weekend and stayed at an HH property on Saturday. Looking at my account I got 2500 HH points I wasn't expecting for one of the my first HH stays after getting the card.

I did also get the following line on my statement:

'Hilton Garden Inn Tysons Corner - AMEX CO BRAND ONLINE BOOKING BONUS' :confused:

I did provide the HH Amex for incidentals (was a prepaid rate) but am surprised to see it on my account since I didn't pay for the reservation with it?

What are the conditions of this 'bonus'?

I think this is the standard first reward points you recieve after your first stay with the HH Amex, depending on which HH Amex promo you signed up for.

u got 2500 each for ur first 4 stays paid with Amex card

Book at hilton.com (or the like) and pay using HH Amex. 500 points.

The irony was the aforementioned stay was pre-paid using a Starwood Amex :D I did put my HH Amex down for incidentals but nothing was charged to it.

I've been using my spg AMEX to pay and have regularly gotten the 500 points.

It appears that any AMEX would work - not just the HHonors one.

Use the field in the Special Accounts section of the booking screen labeled "Corporate Account Number." If you don't know your corporate account number you can probably obtain it from your internal travel resources or even call up Hilton reservations and get it from them. This number probably would also appear printed in confirmations from a previous stay.

Or in my case, my company does not have a Hilton corporate account. I think Travel negotiates with local properties on a site-by-site basis. In this case, I simply book the prevailing basic rate (except a Diamond force rate) and make a note in the reservation to change to XYZ corporate rate. No problems doing this for me.

Is this a promotion that goes in and out?

I have been getting the 500 bonus in June, but not in April and May.

I was getting it back in November however.

A HH supervisor told me that they are having difficulty posting these bonus points & they're aware of this problem. If the 500 bonus points were not posted along w/your stay credit, give HH a call.

Call and get the bonus points manually posted, as stated below.

Well, I most certainly did. 2,500 points for first 4 stays paid with Amex card for 10,000 points total. It was part of the promo when I applied for the card.

I'm sure you did. But that is not considered the actual Amex co-branded booking bonus. That is part of your Amex initial "first four stays bonus". An Amex co-branded booking bonus is simply that - a 500 point bonus for booking on the site and paying with any Amex for your stay.

I'm aware of that. I guess the confusion is that the OP refers to 2500 points, not 500.

Actually not. You need to book the reservation AND pay with your HH Amex - at least you're supposed to. My latest HH Amex statement even stated that twice.

Here's an even stranger case (from my perspective).

I applied for the HH AMEX a few days ago. This past weekend I stayed at a HI, reserved with a non-HH AMEX, and paid for with the same card. When I got home today, I discovered that 1) my HH AMEX had arrived, and 2) my HH account was credited with both the 500 pt AMEX bonus and the 2500 pt HH AMEX bonus!
