Does JetBlue's latest quarterly loss hint at role reversal?
JetBlue Airways reported a narrow loss of $500,000 (less than a penny per share) for the third quarter, sending the New York-based carrier back into the red after a profitable second quarter, according to New York's Newsday
JetBlue officials are expected to address the company's future growth plans today at a 10 a.m. ET press conference to discuss the company's third-quarter earnings. But, in a press release announcing the results, the company pointed to a slowdown in growth. "The company has made the prudent decision to reduce our rate of growth over the next three years through a reduction in both our Airbus 320 fleet and our Embraer 190 fleet," David Neeleman, CEO of JetBlue said in the release.
