Mexico - Meeting someone at the Cancun Airport?

In a couple of weeks, my GF and I are flying for the first time to Cancun. We are on separate flights (and airlines - me AA, her US), arriving about 30 minutes apart. I get there first. Where is the best place for me to try and meet her? I've read varying reports on how immigration works at CUN (jetways, no-jetways; random terminals; etc), and the maps on the airport website are not so good. Should I try to meet her on the gate side of immigration (is this even possible) or should I go through immigration and customs, and wait on the other side. Is there even waiting space prior to immigration, or does it just funnel to a hallway that leads to immigration.

I probably will not have checked luggage.

I think you can meet outside of the Red light / Green light area with no problems. There is a corridor with a bunch of hawks selling excursions and such. Plus, with only 30 minutes difference, I wouldn't sweat it.
