American Express Membership Rewards - Difference Between "Preferred Rewards" and "Rewards Plus" Gold Cards?

Just a quick question - What is the difference between the "Preferred Rewards" and "Rewards Plus" Gold cards? I have a Rewards Plus Gold Card and am wondering what the other card is about. The AmEx website is useless for describing the differences.

im not sure if there are any point earning differences between the 2 gold cards.

if you are going to have 2 cards, then you definitely get the gold $150 because it includes 5 free additional cards.

The transfer ratio is the same for both cards. Previously there was a "Rewards Gold" card that participated in "Membership Rewards Options" which had the less favorable conversion ratio, but this card is no longer offered and existing accounts have been changed to "Preferred Rewards" with a corresponding change in annual fee.

Rewards Plus Gold offers 2x MR points on travel purchases for the first year, then 1.5x after (IIRC Preferred does not.) Rewards Plus also offers 5 free additional cards.

Rewards Plus Gold earns 1.5 points per dollar (2 points during the first 12 months) on transactions at Member Rewards partner airlines or hotel chains. This means that if you use the card to purchase airline tickets from any of 14 mileage transfer airlines or stay at the four hotel chain partners you will earn more points than you would with any other Membership Rewards card.

As mentioned, Rewards Plus Gold also includes five supplementary cards for no additional annual fee, which means it works out less expensive than Preferred Rewards unless you need only the main card.

Which gold card is more likely to qualify for double MR promos on all purchases. Preferably the 100k max not the 50K ones.
