Are Am EX exp miles or points transferable to Virgin Atlantic ff acct to create award travel. I want to fly upper class can my friend or relative do that for me?I'm not familar with AmX :) VS transfers.

American Express Membership Rewards points can be transferred to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles. 1000 points = 1000 miles. The transfer can be performed on the Membership Rewards website and is normally instantaneous. The miles can then be redeemed on the Virgin Atlantic website the same as any other miles.
Officially the name on the American Express account is supposed to match the name on the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club account, but some report being able to transfer even when they do not match. The first step is to "link" the Virgin account to the Membership Rewards account on the American Express website. If this process works the transfer will probably also go through.
Bear in mind, however, that a friend could transfer the points to their own Virgin Atlantic account and then request an award in your name.
