I can understand but can't share the excitement about SQ's new products given I fly almost exclusively on regional routes. Even my experiences with the Spacebed are generally limited to trips on SQ1/2 to/from HKG.

I am now used to the Regional C class seats and am happy with both the old and new styles. What I cannot live with is the old IFE system. I read in the FAQ that all 777s will eventually have the Wiseman 3000 (or newer) system. Has anyone been tracking this? Are the older planes being retrofitted? It's frustrating to get on a 3+ hour flight to discover the old IFE onboard.

My wishlist: SQ starts using the older planes exclusively on the shorter routes (intra SE Asia) and use the ones fitted with Wiseman 3000 for its North Asia, Australia, ME and India routes.

The older 777s with no AVOD were delivered from 1997-2001. They will be retired from 2009-13. After that, every SQ aircraft will have AVOD.

I don't think there are plans to retrofit them with AVOD now.

If by 'North Asia' you also mean PVG and ICN, and 'Australia' includes MEL, you could be experiencing the new SQ 77W within the next year or so, AFAIK. ;)
