Five for Five: JetBlue Named Best U.S. Airline by Conde Nast Traveler Readers for Fifth Year in a Row

NEW YORK, Oct 17, 2006 (PrimeZone Media Network via COMTEX News Network) -- JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq:JBLU) was named "Best Domestic Airline" for the fifth year in a row last night in the Conde Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards.

"It is truly my honor to accept this recognition on behalf of JetBlue's 11,000 crewmembers, who make the JetBlue Experience special and unique for every customer on every flight," said Tim Claydon, JetBlue's senior vice president of sales and marketing, who accepted the award last night. "Five years ago, when we were first recognized by the discerning readers of Conde Nast Traveler, we served 20 destinations with 3,700 crewmembers. Today, we serve 47 destinations with more than twice the number of crewmembers, yet we have remained true to our core promise to deliver the most value for the lowest fare. On behalf of the JetBlue team, thank you very much."

The November 2006 issue of Conde Nast Traveler celebrates the 19th annual Readers' Choice Awards. The results are derived from the largest independent poll of consumers' preferences, the Readers' Choice Survey, second in size only to the U.S. Census. With over 21,000 travelers voting this year, the lists show an even greater global variety and depth.

That's your opinion, and you are 100% entitled to that opinion - but in the opinion of Conde Nast readers for 5 years running, jetBlue airways is the BEST DOMESTIC AIRLINE. It is that simple.

CO is a great airline - but jetBlue was voted #1 in the poll being discussed in this thread.

Weren't they named best International US carrier?

Good to see we are tops again and haven't lost our touch despite some rough times the past year!

Weren't they named best International US carrier?

Good to see we are tops again and haven't lost our touch despite some rough times the past year!Continental was named the best U.S. airline for domestic premium-cabin service and also the best U.S. airline for international business class service.

I would not argue that their premium-class cabin service is excellent.

For anyone, however, consigned to flying coach on CO, it is a fairly miserable experience with industry-minimum 31" seat pitch on about 90% of their fleet and the thinnest, least-comfortable coach seat in the business. And let's not forget that about 90% of passengers sit in coach on a legacy airline like CO.
