I used to think that Zaffiro's in Milwaukee was the best thin crust I have dined on in the Midwest, thread on Zaffiro's here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=309132)

This past Friday I saw an article in USA Today listing the 10 best pizzas in the US, complete list here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=613035

one of the places listed was Wells Brothers and seeing as I had some time this past Saturday as I was driving from N WI back home to Chicago, I decided to stop and try Wells Brothers.

I still love Zaffiro's but Wells Brothers is my new favorite thin crust in the Midwest. As thin and crackly crust as Zaffiro's but more flavor. I got a chance to speak with one of the owners, he had just made 300lbs of Italian Sausage and used 400lbs of flour already due to the huge influx of customers thanks to the article. Wells Brothers also uses fresh basil which really pops with flavor on the pizza. Great balance of sauce, cheese.

Big horseshoe shaped bar that seats 20 people is a good place to wait and rub elbows before indulging in some great pizza.

Wells Bros is about 5 miles from where I grew up, unfortunately the neighborhood around them has gone a bit down hill.

By far the best Pizza I've ever had.
